In American Indian Culture, Dancing is one of the most important aspects of our life and religion. Whether at a large Pow-Wow or a small social gathering, dancing is how we pray. We hold only the highest respect for the drum, the singers, the dancers, and the grounds.
The "dancer" earrings and fan pin were created to represent the sights and movements experienced at any gathering.
Hand shaped and soldered 100% sterling silver, Maine porcupine quills, hematite disks. No two are exactly alike. The dangles on each earring swing freely.
These earrings measure approximately 2 1/4" in length; the pair weighs approximately 1/4 ounce.
The quill used in all work is from porcupines which died from natural causes.
