Jun Ye Batik
A number of galleries in the United States have shown the Batik Artwork of the famous Chinese artist and designer, Jun Ye. Many of the designs by Jun Ye are based on figures and stories of Chinese mythology and of Buddhism of China and Tibet.
Jun Ye has taken the traditional skills and designs used for making Batik (wax printing or dyeing) to new artistic heights, with his contemporary interpretations of ancient Chinese and Buddhist culture using this ancient Chinese folk art. He has created beautiful and fascinating designs, delicate and multicolored, which skilled artisans in village workshops in the GuiZhou Province of China execute for him in the centuries-old traditional Batik process.
