Chris uses the lightness and airiness of the surrounding desert for inspiration that the close-quarters of inner-city warehouses and studios can not provide. "When I'm creating a wind sculpture, I'm right there in the elements; the wind, the sun, desert sounds, even the rain, influence me in subtle ways that I never realized were possible." Evidence of these influences is apparent in each of his pieces.
